This book follows the changes in a salt marsh as the tide goes out and then comes back in. The rhyming text marks the changes and gives lots of good salt marsh information.

Beach

Come to the Ocean’s Edge

by Laurence Pringle, illustrated by Michael Chesworth (sorry, no link)

This lovely book is perfectly ocean. The calming watercolor illustrations, the text that wonderfully captures the seashore, and the extra information at the end—it’s what the ocean is all about.

A girl and her family go to the same beach and stay in the same motel every year. This year, she meets a new friend. Together, they explore and enjoy each day at the beach. This is a sweet book.

by Doris K. Gayzagian, illustrated by Kristina Swarner

One white wishing stone…Two periwinkle shells… A girl counts her treasures at the beach and then uses them to decorate her sand castle. Beach-serene.

Shells! Shells! Shells!
